Conversations in Management

The management area faculty hosted our first Conversations in Management event on April 25, 2012, moderated by Mary Bowers and David Albritton. This event gave management students an opportunity to interact with high-level executives from a variety of business disciplines and interests and to discuss current topics that are of concern to modern business leaders.

The panel of speakers included Carmen Allison (’85 HRM), Rick Blomquist (’81 MKT), Mark Layton (’81 CIS), T. Paul Thomas, (’83 FIN) and Diane Verkest, (associate VP for Human Resources at NAU) with general topic areas including human resources and behavioral management, business planning and entrepreneurship, and strategic decision making. The conversation included hiring of management majors; professionalism and ethics in the workplace; and advice for starting entrepreneurial ventures.
