  2. Students who have been admitted to the NAU MBA program, but lack the prerequisite coursework.

I received a minor in business administration.  Am I eligible for the program?

You are not eligible for the program if you received a minor in business.

When and where are the courses offered?

All five courses are offered at the Flagstaff Mountain campus during the summer term only, beginning mid-May and concluding early August. The courses are offered in the evenings and are a combination of in-person and online coursework. A current summer enrollment calendar can be found HERE.

When can I apply?

Applications to the program are accepted year round.

Are there prerequisite course requirements?

Applicants must have completed a math course at least one level above college algebra in order to enroll in the certificate program.

Do I have to complete all five courses in one summer?

In accordance with NAU policy, you must complete the certificate program in six years. Therefore you can complete it over a number of summer terms, depending on what suits your needs and circumstances.  There is a limit on how many terms you may skip without reapplying to the program.  Please contact the NAU Graduate College for additional information HERE.

You may take a couple of the courses without enrolling for the certificate program. However, if you decide to take all five and want to receive the certificate you must apply and be accepted into the certificate program.

How do I enroll?

Once you have been admitted to the NAU Graduate College, you may enroll according to the schedule posted at the NAU Registrar.  Summer enrollment typically begins mid-February.

Do I receive a diploma upon completion of the certificate?

Your completed plan of study will be posted to your transcript and you will receive a graduate certificate by mail. Individuals completing Graduate Certificates do not participate in Commencement.
