Full Time MBA Program

NAU’s accelerated MBA Program allows students to save on time and expense by completing the degree in 10-months. As an MBA student, you’ll be eligible for a variety of financial aid programs and financing options. For the MBA Class of 2014, approximately 96% of the students received some form of assistance, with most students using a combination of programs to cover their expenses.

Cost of Attending

The amounts shown are presented only as a guide and are subject to change without notice. These amounts are a minimum estimate for a full academic year in the MBA program for 2014-2015, which includes summer session, fall and spring semesters.

1. The MBA Program fee is billed in two payments – July and December. The due dates for the program fee are the same dates as the tuition deadlines. Learn about deadlines HERE. Once you begin the summer session, the fall payment is non-refundable.  Once you begin the spring semester, the MBA Program fee is non-refundable.

2. International students must purchase health insurance.

3. Total Cost does not include books,  housing and miscellaneous expenses. Book prices vary widely depending upon the source of purchase or rental. Housing expense varies widely depending upon whether you choose on or off-campus housing, and how many people share in the expense. Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP)

Tuition assistance is available for out-of-state students from 15 Western Region US States. NAU is the only university in the 15 WRGP states that offers assistance for an MBA program.  For more information, please visit the NAU Graduate College website HERE.

Graduate Assistantships

A limited number of graduate assistantships are available on a competitive basis to admitted MBA students with a demonstrated record of excellence both in the classroom and in the workplace. Graduate assistantships are ten hour per week paid positions.  For the 2014-2015 academic year, the award value is approximately $8,735 for resident students and $19,819 for non-resident students.

Other types of graduate assistantships are occasionally available for students to work in various university offices and programs. Stipends vary with the duties and time requirements associated with the assistantship.  MBA students are not permitted to work more than 10 hours per week due to the rigors of the MBA program.  Check the Financial Aid, Residence Life, and Graduate College websites for more information regarding graduate assistantships outside the MBA Program.

Tuition Waivers

A limited number of scholarships in the form of in-state and out-of-state tuition waivers are available each year as well. The waivers require no specific work from the student and are allocated on a university-wide competitive basis.


The MBA Program offers a limited number of private donor scholarships. Scholarship amounts and criteria are subject to change each year.  Please refer to the MBA office for additional information about scholarships.

MBA Program Fee Aid

A portion of the MBA Program Fee is reserved for aid to admitted MBA students each year.  In order to be eligible for aid, students must be US citizens and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The deadline for completion varies; please refer to the MBA Program office for additional information.

Military Personnel

NAU has a very active veterans department and has the distinction of being recognized as a military friendly school.  Tuition assistance for military personnel is available through the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance Program.  Additional information can be found at Veterans Affairs HERE.

International Students

If you are an international student who is neither a dual U.S. citizen nor a U.S. permanent resident, we encourage you to investigate all sources of funding within your home country, including government and private scholarships and loans.
