On Friday, September 20, 2013, Marianne Jennings, Arizona State University professor emeritus of legal and ethical studies in business, visited NAU to give a presentation on her 8 steps for ethical analysis.

Jennings has been speaking to NAU MBA students each fall for the past several years and has much to share with them. MBA program coordinator Natasha Silvestri worked with Jennings’ assistant to schedule the event and had the opportunity to sit in on the presentation.

“She’s just a phenomenal speaker,” Silvestri said. “She gave a lot of relevant and current examples and students were really engaged in what she was saying.”

Her presentation touched on topics such as the “gray area” and how to determine if what you’re about to do is right or wrong.

"One of the most interesting concepts Marianne Jennings talked about was how you should view an ethical dilemma in which you have to take the emotional bias out of a situation and think about all of the shareholders involved," said Mark Waxman, an MBA student.
