Spring 2013 Career Exploration Day-Recap
The W. A. Franke College of Business had their spring semester Career Exploration Day Thursday, February 28, 2013. Presented by the Career Development Office (CDO), it was a great opportunity for students to get their foot in the door with many well-renowned businesses.
One of the businesses represented at the event was The Vanguard Group. Their website describes them as “the world's largest mutual fund company, with about $2 trillion invested in the U.S. in more than 170 index, active, and exchange-traded funds.” Working for such an impressive company would be an ideal position for students hoping to grow within the business.
Eunice Cardenas, a human resources representative with Vanguard, was glad to be back for another career fair at NAU-FCB.
“We’ve been coming here for several semesters,” she said. “We love NAU students; we have several alumni who already work here.”
Their booth was busy throughout the course of the event and they were able to set up interviews with students for both internship and full-time positions.
These career exploration days are convenient because they allow students to get their resumes out to businesses and to potentially secure an internship or possibly begin their business careers.
