FCB Students Involved in Building Ceramic Armor Prototype

In the spring of 2012, students in Professor Chopin's MGT 435 New Venture Planning And Business Plans class teamed up in groups and worked with a number of clients to address a business challenge.  One group, working with ATC Materials went above and beyond the minimum requirements.   ATC Materials specializes in ceramic armor so the students came up with a suggestion that the product be used to improve the effectiveness of armored vehicles.

As part of their work with the company, the student-led group came up with a new prototype for armor to be used on vehicles.  ATC Materials is now in the process of building armor based on their prototype for specific vehicle panels.  They are examining the market to see if there is enough demand for such a product to be released.

The chance to work with a start-up business and help come up with ideas that could become the company's new market is great experience that could help secure a good job later down the line as students are able to connect what they learn in the classroom with how they can apply it to their professional lives.
