The Department of Energy covered Team NAU on their website.

The Department of Energy is a federally funded agency with a mission to, “ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions.” They work hard on all scopes of science, technology, and engineering to achieve their goal.

Although the Department of Energy was established in 1977, it had already been active participant in science and innovation. For example, the agency was involved in the Manhattan Project helping develop the atomic bomb and other projects before becoming officially founded.

Team NAU is working hard on developing a winning wind turbine for a competition held at the American Wind Energy Association WINDPOWER in Chicago on May 8-10. The recognition from such a prestigious organization is sure to boost morale and show our community how hard our students are working together for change in energy.
