Staff Appreciation in the FCB
As a way to show thanks to Franke College of Business (FCB) staff for all of the hard work they do in helping the college be as successful as it is by assisting the faculty and students, Dean Craig Van Slyke organized a staff appreciation week running from Monday, August 19, 2013 to Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
The celebrations began with a faculty and staff meeting to show recognition and announce the Staff Appreciation Week. There was a staff appreciation lunch held on Wednesday, August 21 where our new chef Mark Molinaro had prepared a full course meal for all attendees.
The surprises kept coming when each member of the staff was given a caramel-coated apple from the Sweet Shoppe & Nut House.
In the week leading up to the beginning of the fall 2013 semester, to get “charged up” for a new year, the staff was presented with a car charger bearing the NAU logo on Monday, August 26. They were then treated to a catered breakfast the next day in the Babbitt Boardroom. Staff Appreciation Week was rounded off on Wednesday, August 28, the first day the students returned, with a laid-back casual dress day where they got to wear nice jeans or slacks along with a bright green tie-dyed FCB shirt with an ‘I make a difference in the FCB’ tagline.
These events and gifts were a great way to make each member of the staff feel appreciated and valuable to the college for all they do for faculty, students, and administration.
